Privacy Notice on the Processing of Personal Data

At Efeoğlu Hukuk ve Danışmanlık ("the Firm"), we place great importance on the protection of privacy and personal data. As the data controller, we wish to inform you about the processing of your personal data in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("the Law") and related legislation.
This notice aims to inform visitors to our website, our business partners, clients and prospective clients about the personal data processed in the course of our activities.
What Personal Data Do We Process, For What Purposes and on What Legal Basis?
Website Visitors
We process the IP addresses of visitors to our website for the purposes of classifying and evaluating user data, website analytics and improvements, and understanding how the website's features and functions are used in order to improve the user experience, on the legal basis of necessity for the protection of our legitimate interests without prejudicing your fundamental rights and freedoms under Article 5(2)(f) of the Law.
Our website contains links to some of our social media accounts. You may access those accounts by clicking on the relevant social media provider's symbol. Those social networks may independently collect and process your personal data. We have no control over such data and processing activities. We recommend that you review the privacy notices and terms of use published by the relevant social media providers.
For other data that may be obtained during your visit to our website, even if you have not shared any information with us, please refer to our Cookie Policy. In accordance with our Cookie Policy, only very limited types of cookies are used for the purposes of meeting your needs during your website visit and for analytics purposes.
Our Clients
The personal data of our clients, or of the representatives/officers/employees of our corporate clients, is processed for the purposes of providing services to and representing our clients in the context of consultancy or litigation matters, on the legal basis of being directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract under Article 5(2)(c) of the Law.
In addition, such personal data is also processed for the purposes of managing our business relationships with clients, communicating with them, and keeping them informed of legal developments, on the legal basis of necessity for the protection of our legitimate interests without prejudicing fundamental rights and freedoms under Article 5(2)(f) of the Law.
Our Business Partners
The personal data of our business partners and suppliers, or of the representatives/officers/employees of our corporate business partners or suppliers, is processed for the purposes of entering into and performing contracts, on the legal basis of Article 5(2)(c) of the Law. It is also processed for managing relationships, communication and keeping them informed of legal developments, on the basis of Article 5(2)(f) of the Law.
Prospective Clients and Stakeholders
The personal data of prospective clients, persons we have met at events or obtained lawfully from public sources, and our colleagues is processed for the purposes of contact management, communication, and keeping them informed of legal developments and events, on the legal basis of Article 5(2)(f) of the Law.
Furthermore, personal data of all of the above categories may be disclosed to official authorities without your explicit consent where required by mandatory legislation or when requested by competent authorities in accordance with applicable law. Personal data may also be used and shared with courts and other competent bodies to the extent necessary in connection with an actual or potential legal dispute. In this context, personal data may be processed under Article 5(2)(ç) to fulfil legal obligations and under Article 5(2)(e) to establish or protect the Firm's legal rights, without requiring your explicit consent.
To Whom and For What Purposes May We Transfer Your Personal Data?
Only where necessary to fulfil the purposes set out above, personal data obtained by the Firm may be shared with third-party service/support/consultancy providers based in Turkey and with competent public authorities.
Personal data may also be shared with competent authorities in response to requests made within the framework of applicable legislation, and with courts in the event of disputes.
Personal data submitted via the contact form is stored securely in Supabase cloud infrastructure (European Union data centres). To the extent data is transferred abroad, such transfer is carried out in compliance with Article 9 of the Law and the decisions of the Personal Data Protection Authority.
How Do We Collect Your Personal Data?
Your personal data is collected through documents and information you submit to us electronically or physically, by verbal, written or electronic means, through automated or non-automated methods.
What Are Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Data?
Pursuant to Article 11 of the Law, you have the following rights:
- To learn whether your personal data is being processed and to request information if it is,
- To learn the purpose of the processing and whether your data is being used in accordance with that purpose,
- To know the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
- To request rectification of incomplete or inaccurate personal data, and to request that such rectification be notified to third parties to whom the data has been transferred,
- To request deletion or destruction of your personal data where the grounds for processing have ceased to exist, and to request notification of such deletion to third parties,
- To object to any result that arises against you through analysis of your data exclusively by automated systems,
- To claim compensation for damages suffered due to unlawful processing of your personal data.
The Firm undertakes that you may exercise these rights at any time and in the most convenient manner, subject to our obligations arising from applicable legislation.
